Hi!

Does multicast over IPv6 work for anyone?

I tried to send with vlc from one Windows 2012 machine to vlc on Window 8
(same LAN) and it does not work.

If I use an IPv4 multicast address, then it works.

Could this be a regression?

Regards,
David

PS: Anyone knows any simple (netcat like) tools for IPv6 troubleshooting?

More info: I followed the instructions on this page:
http://www.interlab.ait.asia/tein3/ipv6mcast/video.php

In short:
send: vlc video.avi --sout udp://[FF7E:120:2001:222::1111]:1234 --loop
receive: vlc udp://[FF7E:120:2001:222::1111]:1234

It does not work (no picture).

If I used the receivers unicast IPv6 (link local) address instead, then it
worked.
It also works by using an IPv4 multicast address like 239.x.y.z.
