[vlc] Subtitles incredibly small on Linux

Since upgrading from vlc-2.0.3 to 2.0.5, subtitles are incredibly
tiny. They're just a few pixels tall at the bottom of the screen so
completely unreadable. I tried changing the font size in Preferences
but the size didn't change perceptably even after restarting vlc.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Probably a bug, search for it and report.

However, it may be a font problem. Change the font and see.
