[vlc] About x264

Im kinda lost here. I downloaded the x264 in the vlc website and when I extracted it, I dont understand. Theres many random stuff about c++ that I dont know how to use and I even wonder if it even has any use, I thought I downloaded wrong so I downloaded it again and still, there it was. Im just wondering how to use that cuz I really wanna learn how to do that. But I dont know where to begin. Please, help. Thank you!?

You should use the executable available for your OS, not the source
code.
