[vlc] Pretesting VLC-1.0.0?

According to https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/8364, VLC-1.0.0 is
able to play DVDs straight from the optical drive under Android.

Thing is, I can't find any VLC-1.0.0 anywhere. I understand it's not
released yet, but is there some pretest version somewhere so I can
indeed confirm that playing DVDs straight from the optical drive will
work for me when 1.0.0 is released?

Thanks, by the way. I did test it and it shows the same behavior as the
0.9.9 I was using before (i.e. no access to the optical drive).

No, it plays full ISOs and normal DVDread.
For Android, having a working DVD drive will be difficult :)

With my kindest regards,

Are you saying that the user `jb' who closed
https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/8364 was mistaken?

What's hard about it? FWIW, I can play DVDs on my Android
machine already. It's just that I first have to fire "dvdbackup" (from
the LilDebian partition) and only after the disk is ripped I can pass
the resulting ISO to VLC. This can take a long time (and I
don't have much disk space on that Android machine), so it's a major
downer when you just rented the DVD and everybody is just waiting to
watch it.
