[vlc] problem report

Hi,

I'm emailing from Greece. I've just installed the VLC player to my iPad 3, transferred an episode (avi format) from a series to check it and I had 2 problems: 1) The sound is very distorted to the point that is incomprehensible and 2) using the Greek subtitles (I've tried both encoding options given) just gave me squares instead of letters.

Then I checked an mp4 format, the sound was ok but the same problem with the subtitles.

Hope you solve the problems, take care especially the Greek subs, I'm sure for the sound you'll get many messages, but for Greek subs I believe not so many, so please try to solve the problems, VLC it's a so good program (for PC at least).

Thank you very much for your work and offer!!

Stamatis

Looks like some missing fonts in your iPad.

Hi again, I am not sure if I got an answer from you "Looks like some missing fonts in your iPad". If this is the case that would be strange, I've seen hundreds of episodes, movies etc and I never had this problem.
Also that same episode and subtitle were playing without problem to the application I used up to now, so I do not think is a missing font problem.
Thank you and hope you'll solve all issues!

I don't know about ipad, but it appears that VLC expects some fonts to
be present, those are missing that's why you see those blocks.

You say you never had issues with external Greek subtitles before?

Hi,
The new edition of VLC for iPad seems that solved the sound issue but NOT the issue for the Greek subtitles as it was mentioned in the updates.
It would be very nice if you could do something about it.
Thank you,
